There is a place that is not Heaven or Hell, its name is Limbo…
Daniel de Luc is gone — not missing, but vanished, as if he never existed at all. Left behind is Simone, fourteen years old, rescued from the Sarrazin family’s porn empire, raised since infancy to be sold. She was never meant to have a childhood. Now Paola is trying to give her one.
But Simone was born into a bargain, and bargains in the underworld of child trafficking are never truly closed. The men who lost her want her back — or want her gone.
When Simone’s closest friend vanishes without a trace, Paola realizes the threat isn’t circling anymore. It’s inside the gates.
Something else has arrived in Paola’s Cape Town neighborhood: a cult dressed in black, silent, watchful, and rooted in a past Daniel never spoke of — a past that may explain why he disappeared, and why he can never come back.
Paola will call in every favor, break every rule, and risk everything she has left to keep her daughter safe. But some debts were written long before Simone was born, and Limbo always collects.
How much of yourself can you give away to save someone else’s child?

Praise for the Daughters of Limbo series
“A luxurious read filled with compelling revelations. I am consistently blown away by Roland’s stunning craftsmanship.” – Joni Rodgers, New York Times Bestselling Author
“One of the central themes is the husband with a secret life. Consuelo Roland is more subversive still in this teasing literary mystery.” – Fiona Zerbst, Litnet
